This retreat will emphasize the application of the meditative absorptions in a regular sitting practice and is suitable only for experienced meditators with prior retreat experience (in any Buddhist tradition). The Jhanas, commonly called the meditative absorptions, are a method of one-pointed concentration taught in the Theravadan Buddhist tradition. The retreat will emphasize the teaching of this technique and will be held in Noble Silence with sitting and walking meditation and personal interviews.

This retreat will be entirely in English, with no translation.

Bring:

in doors and outdoors shoes, ear plugs (the rooms are mostly doubles shared and someone might snore), if you have your own favorite zafu, bring that too.

Program:

Arrival: 6 November, Saturday, between 9-11am (programme starts at 12 am). If you wish to arrive on Friday please contact Jampaias directly
Departure: 14 November, Sunday, after 11am

Teacher:

Leigh Brasinghton has been practicing since 1985 and is the senior American student of the late Venerable Ayya Khema. She confirmed Leigh‘s practice and requested that he begin teaching. Leigh assisted Venerable Ayya Khema starting in 1994 and he began teaching retreats in 1997.

Donations:

Leigh Brasinghton teaches on a Dana basis, that is, participants are invited to contribute a donation at the end of the retreat. The fixed cost covers travel, hiring the venue and administrative expenses.

Booking: please call or send an e-mail.

Deposit: having received the confirmation that you have a place, to garantee your place, please transfer a 100€ deposit and send the respective bank transfer receipt. The remainig payment should be done at the retrear centre. Last date: 18 October (deposits are not refundable)
