Welcome to Pais de Cima Retreat Center!

This center is located on a large estate (Monte Pais de Cima) in the beautiful Baixo Alentejo region in southwestern Portugal, approximately 30km from the Atlantic coast. (see location map)

The center consists of several fully remodeled old farm buildings constructed in the traditional design of the “Baixo Alentejo” region. It includes a main house for accommodations (“Casa-Mãe”), kitchen, bakery/stone oven, dining hall, several independent apartments, a converted hay barn for meditation/activity hall, swimming pool with lounge area and several gardens.
The “Monte Pais de Cima” farm is water and energy independent. Using alternative energy such as solar and wind power for its electrical power requirements.  It is also a certified organic farm producing such crops as organic cork, olives, fruits and vegetables.

Pais de Cima first opened in November 1999 under "Jampaias" name and has since been growing, having improvements to the facilities and transforming as life demanded it. Under the guidance of the committed owner who shares this place for the Self Knowledge developing and Spiritual growth. 
We invite all guests to love and respect all beings visible and invisible that lives in this center and the surrounding farm. 
The facilities and accommodations are prepared to receive organized retreats, courses and workshops from within the spiritual community, for booked events.

The gently rolling fields and the surrounding cork forest with its pristine wildlife and nature provide a perfectly peaceful and beautiful environment for spiritual activities, silent retreats, trainings, and related courses.

In these surroundings one can experience the nature as a whole. Or, to feel a breeze in the fields, listening the birds, the attentive look to the blossoming of a flower on the wayside, the serenity and tranquility of the lake waters. To observe the clear sky on new moon nights are unforgettable moments.
